I wanted to start out by pointing at James Wallace Harris’s great blog, that has really picked up over the holidays. He pays a lot of attention to science fiction, and my favorite recent post is about “Science fiction in my lifetime.” New hope for science education under Obama. A new hope? Wasn’t that episode IV back in 1977? Carter didn’t pan out so well. Let’s hope Obama does better. And an article about an innovative math program in Oregan that has 3rd graders doing algebra. Cool. A
